UBC Sports Hall of Fame

100 Years of Athletic Excellence

The UBC Sport Hall of Fame acknowledges UBC's more than 100 years of athletic history - the university’s outstanding athletes, teams, builders and their accomplishments.

The first inductions into the Hall were celebrated in 1993 and with each year since inductees of unparalleled quality have been embraced, the product of a careful research and selection committee process.

From 1995 until 2000, the Athletic Department’s Hall of Fame induction banquets were held in conjunction with the UBC Alumni Association. In 2002, the UBC Hall of Fame ceremonies joined with the Big Block Club induction ceremonies.

In 2012, a new UBC Sports Hall of Fame was unveiled in the main foyer of the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre. The Hall of Fame features displays that highlight some of UBC's most important sports figures and moments in time, through photographs and sports memorabilia.

Nominations for the 2024 Class of the UBC Sports Hall of Fame are open now until November 15, 2023. To submit a nomination, please complete the form here or contact or contact .
